Healthy Children Learn Better, and
School Nurses Make it Happen
Health Concerns: I am here to take care of your precious cargo when they are out of your sight, but not out of your mind. My primary goal is to use the 30+ years of nursing experience to make sure that the health office provides preventive care for your child.
Medication: Heavy winds make asthma much worse and increase eye irritations for allergies. To look at what seasonal allergens are in the air go to: www.pollen.com and put in your zip code. This will assist you with knowing what allergen will be an (example: 92376) irritate your child's lungs. Flu Shots: Keep in mind flu season is year round. Remember, the flu shot protects your child and high-risk population from death and or hospitalization (example, those who are pregnant, elderly, infants, those with chronic health conditions etc.). https://youtu.be/YNd6Hvgitwo
Handwashing: It is important for proper handwashing. Please view the video for proper handwashing. Spread of illnesses is preventable with proper handwashing.https://youtu.be/Vr6GQN-z_2s Proper wearing of masks: Wearing a mask protects you and others. Make sure the mask covers the nose and mouth. Please have students, family, and staff cough in the elbow, not in their hands.
