Hello Kordyak parents!
We are excited to share an incredible opportunity for our students to showcase their creativity and express their appreciation for the amazing work of our school nutrition professionals! The 2025 "Nourish to Flourish" Contest, hosted by the Southern California School Nutrition Association (SCSNA), invites our students to celebrate the heroes in our cafeteria through art, poetry, or short stories.
Why Should Your Child Participate?
Our school nutrition team serves over 4 million children across California each day, not only promoting healthy eating habits but also creating a warm and welcoming environment for all students. This contest is a wonderful way for your child to celebrate these dedicated professionals while tapping into their creative potential!
Contest Categories & Age Groups:
Students can submit one entry in any of the following categories: 
Art – A drawing, painting, or digital media piece that highlights our school nutrition heroes. 
Poetry – A heartfelt poem about nutrition, gratitude, or the important role of our school nutrition teams. 
Short Story – A 100-600 word story that features the nutrition staff or highlights the impact of healthy eating.
Exciting Prizes for Winners!
Each grade group will have a winner in every category, who will receive: 
A $100 Prize for the student Special Recognition for the school kitchen team
