Environmental Science (Environmental Pathway) - This class examines the environment, including the atmosphere, water, rocks and soil and other living organisms. Topics include waste management, endangered species, pollution, water and air equality, global warming, nuclear power & natural resources.

10th Grade Science

  • Chemistry in Earth Systems (Traditional Pathway) - This class incorporates calculations and theories of chemistry to create a basic understanding of how matter works. Students will study atomic and molecular properties of matter to predict interactions between substances in the earth’s systems. This includes looking at reactions and properties of matter impacting climate change. Students should have successfully learned skills in Math 1 to use in this course.

Chemistry in Earth Systems Honors (Traditional Pathway) - This is a faster-paced and more rigorous study of Chemistry topics. This class incorporates calculations and theories of chemistry to create a more in-depth understanding of chemistry to give students a foundation to use in future chemistry classes. Students will study atomic and molecular properties of matter to predict interactions between substances in the earth’s systems. This includes looking at reactions and properties of matter impacting climate change, ocean acidification, and the transfer of energy throughout the earth. Students should have successfully learned skills in Math 1 to use in this course.
