- Ike students petition to have third high school named after teacher Charles Grande
- Eisenhower High School teacher Charles Grande was chosen to receive the 2000 Teacher of the Year award from the Walmart Foundation and SAM's Foundation.
- DECA sends two students to the national competition
- Raquel Vega traveled with a local Mariachi Group to Washington D.C. While there she sang "The Star Spangled Banner" on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
- Theresa Moore, an Instructional Aide at Ike, walked in the Dublin Marathon after raising money for the Arthritis Foundation.
- Eisenhower student Hao Hou (class of 1998) has been selected to be on the choreography staff of the Sydney, Australia 2000 Olympic Games. He is part of the Southern California All-Stars, an elite group of 40 dancers that will perform during the Olympics.
- Two Eisenhower football players were named to the California football all star squad: Running Back Mario McDowell and Defensive End Traison Lewis. The CaliFlorida Bowl was held at the Rose Bowl on July 22, 2000, and marks the first time California and Florida played an all-star game.
- Class of 2000 presented the school with a tree and a plaque. The plaque reads: "There is no future in any job. The future lies in the man who holds it." In honor of the graduating class of 2000.

- Class of 2001 presented the school with an eagle statue. The plaque reads as follows: The graduating class of 2001 proudly presents this statue with this closing thought. "This is the last song if you let it be." – Bjork
- Ronnie Lott became the first Ike alumni to be inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame.
- Competing for the first time at the Los Angeles County Fair in over 20 years, the Eisenhower High School Golden Eagle Alliance had a very successful competition. Even though the band had to play in the rain and faced competition from groups that have performed at the event for several years, the Alliance pulled together and did a great job.
- In March 1999, Eisenhower High School was awarded the Home Economics Careers and Technology Incentive Grant. This grant enabled the school to improve and expand classes offered through the Home Economics Department. Eisenhower High School was certified as a Program of Excellence in August 2000.
- The EHS MCJROTC unit was selected as a Naval Honor School. In addition, they again hosted the USMC Battle Color Ceremony and Silent Drill Platoon.
- Eisenhower Alumni Ted Chronopoulos was re-signed by the New England Revolution. Chronopoulos has been with the team since its inception in 1996. Chronopolous graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1990.

- Eisenhower High School was recognized as a Program of Excellence
- Girl's basketball player, Laura Dinkins, was featured in the San Bernardino Sun. Dinkins donated stem cells in her blood for her sister who suffers from sickle cell anemia.
- The Early Bird Eagles program began, offering recreational and tutorial activities and breakfast.
- Sara Folsom, a tenth grade student at Eisenhower High School, recently had a poem published in the San Bernardino Sun. The Sun sponsored a poetry contest in which contestants were asked to write a 10-line poem using ten special words.
- Eisenhower alumni, Yolanda Townsend Wheat, returned to speak to students about her life since graduating as Valedictorian in 1979. She spoke about the importance of staying in school and working hard.
- Thomas Kohl, a 1986 graduate of Eisenhower High School, is the assistant drum major for the United States Marine Band - also known as "The President's Own."
- In spring sports: Boy's volleyball team finished the league undefeated and an overall record of 13-2 to win the CBL; Jorgen Medraza won the CBL Singles Tennis title; Boy's Baseball tied the school record with 10 victories and advanced to the third round in CIF playoffs; and the Track team sent Tyson Jamerson in long jump and the 1600 meter relay team to CIF Masters.

- Adam Martinez, a senior, was recognized by the National Merit Scholarship program as a Commended Student. He placed in the top five thousand percent of one million students who took the 2000 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Test.
- Daisy Varela and Anthony Garcia, Football Homecoming Queen and King
- Valerie Bryce, a junior, became a semifinalist in the annual Music Center Spotlight Awards competition.
- Eisenhower High School girls basketball player, Jasmine Clarendon, was named Girls Basketball Player of the Year in the San Bernardino Sun newspaper. Clarendon was recognized for her averages of 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. In addition, even though Clarendon was double and triple-teamed by opponents, she still found ways to score. Clarendon, the CBL MVP was already being recruited by several colleges even though she is still a junior.
- Derek Parra, graduate of 1988, went to the 2002 Winter Olympics in speedskating. Parra was among eight athletes selected to carry the flag resurrected from the ashes of the World Trade Center attack. Parra won a silver and a gold medal and set a new world record time of 1 minute, 43.95 in the 1,500 meter race.
- The boy's basketball team enjoyed a banner year, winning the CBL (again), and was the first Ike team to reach the CIF championship game. Approximately 1100 tickets were sold for the game at The Pond
- Adam Martinez was named to the San Bernardino Sun All-County Academic Team.
- Matt Fitu advanced to the U.S. Nationals in Greco-Roman wrestling.
- Roger Reupert, an icon at Eisenhower High School, retires from his position as Athletic Director. Reupert was recently featured on the front page of the San Bernardino Sun. Surrounded by memorabilia from 28 years as A.D., including a CIF Athletic Director of the Year award, Reupert smiled as he brandished his famous pencils. As the caption under the picture states: "Roger Reupert can wear down the entire length of a pencil in one day in his job as Ike's A.D."
- During the weeks of February 4 - 15, 2002, Eisenhower High School hosted three teachers from England. They were sponsored by TIPD - Teachers' International Professional Development Programme. TIPD offers teachers the opportunity to experience world class teaching in different countries. The three teachers spent time exploring the Eisenhower campus and team teaching with some of the faculty.
- Eisenhower High School began preparing for Virtual Hi-Tech High (VHTH). This program will develop a regional educational partnership with links to post-secondary education, high-tech businesses and industry.

- On Saturday, April 19, a benefit walk for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of the Inland Empire, took place at Eisenhower High School. Proceeds also benefited the Anthony J. Nickols Jr. Foundation and a new college scholarship at Eisenhower High School. Nicols, class of '97, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and died at the age of 19.
- Patrick Holm and Edward Duque placed first in desktop publishing at the FBLA national competition
- Eisenhower High School drummers, Brian Smith and Jeff Weintraub marched with the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band
- Sergeant Simon Cannon, graduate of 1996, came back to EHS on February 4, 2003, to re-enlist in the United States Army. Colonel Gerald Polyasko-USMC (retired), instructor of the ROTC program at Ike was asked to administer the oath. As he stated at the ceremony, "It is both an honor and a privilege." (Any active duty or retired officer from any branch of the military is permitted to administer the oath, as they are acting under the auspices of the President of the United States.)
- Mr. Armand Messer takes over as Acting Principal for the 2002-03 school year. Welcoming him to his new office was a beautiful fan with an eagle, donated by Bennie Gordon, Sr.
- (Sustained Silent Reading) SSR is started for the first time at Ike. Book carts were purchased for all the classrooms (teachers could special order books). Pictured below are the carts all lined up after they were put together.
- The Baseline Marquee was replaced with a brand new electronic signboard.
- The boys's basketball team returned to the CIF Championship game. Final score: Ike 75 Silverado 71!! At the basketball banquet, the team presented Principal Messer with the CIF plaque, game ball, and net from the Pond. He also received a commemorative t-shirt emblazoned with artwork of the championship ring. Directly below are two of the rings and the game program. Click on the program to see some of the pages.

- More construction took place over summer vacation. The swimming pool locker rooms finally have a roof!
- On Monday, April 19, 2004, Dorothy Marshall was the recipient of the $2000 1st place award for Fine Arts at the Bank of America Achievement Awards
- Jon Brownbridge, 2nd generation Ike student (his father Brian Brownbridge, who is also an Ike teacher, graduated from EHS in 1976), advances to CIF State in wrestling
- Eisenhower High School student, Jonathan Jobe, has been selected to the Resident Honors Program at the University of Southern California. Students participating in this program leave high school one year early and generally continue at USC until they complete their undergraduate degree. Typically only 40 to 60 students are accepted each year.
- Earl Duque placed 10th in a national website development contest in Orlando, Florida as part of the Future Business Leaders of America.
- Jeff Conine, class of '84, played in the World Series with the Florida Marlins
- On Thursday, November 13, 2003, six Eisenhower High School students were recognized as San Bernardino County Scholars in The Press-Enterprise newspaper. This recognition was also co-sponsored by California State University-San Bernardino. The six students are: Luis Alvarez, Carissa Gomez, Dorothy Marshall, Josef Miller, Brittany Young, and Caitlin Young.
- Eisenhower High School alumni, Marilyn Salcido (c/o '98) and her brother, Dominic Salcido (c/o '02), will be featured boxers at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California on Feb. 16. Marilyn Salcido is a top rated bantamweight who will be facing Carla Wilcox another ranked fighter in the semi-main event. Marilyn's record is currently 10-4-3 with 5 KOs. Dominic Salcido has been called a rising star and his record is currently 3-0 with 2 KOs.
- Former Eisenhower High School Athletic Director, Roger Reupert, was recently inducted into the Citrus Belt Area Athletic Directors' Association Hall of Fame
- 21 of San Bernardino County's most talented middle and high school students have been recognized as California Arts Scholars. This designation makes them eligible to study with professional masters this summer. Adam Young from Ike was recognized for his work in animation.
- Eisenhower High School graduate (class of '94) and current Rialto police officer, Roddrick Clayton, received the department's Medal of Valor for saving a child.
- Redlands Town & Gown Honors Former Ike Teacher. This year, one of the honorees is a former EHS instructor. Jane Roberts taught French and coached tennis until her retirement. She launched the program 34 Million Friends to help restore funding to the United Nations Population Fund. The premise of the program is to have 34 million Americans send a $1 to the U.S. Committee for UNFPA. Roberts has received an award of achievement from several organizations.
- The Rialto Police and Fire Departments with help from the County Sheriff's Office, presented a program to the students of Eisenhower High School about driving at safe speeds and avoiding the use of alcohol and drugs while behind the wheel. There was an extrication demonstration, removal of victims from a vehicle, and a helicopter flew into the stadium to fly the victims out.

- Mr. Armand Messer announces his retirement after 30+ years in education. At his retirement dinner, the Ike staff gave him a memory quilt adorned with Eisenhower t-shirts. The quilt was made by Marilyn Helms using t-shirts donated by Ike staff.
- Varsity football returns to the CIF playoffs
- Eisenhower High School graduate Nick Theadorou (class of 1993) will be playing baseball in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Even though the United States team did not qualify for the Olympics, the host country is automatically qualified. The problem for Greece, is the fact that the country does not have a baseball team. Americans of Greek ancestry were allowed to play on the Greek team. Nick played baseball at UCLA and is currently playing in the Los Angeles Dodger's AAA minor league system.
- Sean Marshall, class of '03, currently a sophomore at Boston College, took part in the Wooden Classic at UCLA. Boston College went on to beat UCLA 76-64. In addition, Marshall was a part of basketball history at Boston College. The fifth-ranked Eagles beat Seton Hall 60-52 on February 5, 2005, to become the first team in Big East history to start a season 20-0.
- The inaugural presentation of the Lott Trophy took place in Orange County. This new award is being established to recognize players who not only excel on the field, but whose personal character is above reproach. Lott, a graduate of Eisenhower High School, as well as an NFL Hall of Famer, was willing to have his name on the award because it would be "the first award to give equal consideration to the personal character of athletes."
- Ike grad Titi Lawani finished second in the 138.75 pound divsion of the U.S. Women's College Nationals. According to Titi's coach, Joe Paluba, Titi was ranked ninth in the country on the senior women's level.
- Students from Mrs. Blanke's VHTH Freshman House read to Mrs. Patricia Fitzsimmons' kindergarten students at Dunn Elementary as part of Read Across America Day.

- Several improvements were begun on the Ike campus. The D-wing satellite cafe is being completely remodeled, and another satellite cafe is being added to the J-wing. Shade covers were added near the cafeteria to protect students from the elements.

- The R-wing portables were removed.
- Plans for the quad renovation moved forward. The model shown below was built by Brian Montez, Grounds Maintenance Supervisor for Rialto Unified School District. The full model was displayed throughout the 2004-05 school year in the Ike library.
- The 12th Marine corps District in San Diego selected Eisenhower High School as an Honor School for the school year 2004/2005. Eisenhower competed against 32 schools covering the western states, Hawaii and Japan. Only 6 schools were chosen.
- Eisenhower High School graduate, Eldred Marshall IV (class of '99), will be competing in two piano competitions in Italy as part of his tour. Eldred, the 1999 salutatorian, graduated from Yale in 2003. While there, he directed the Yale Gospel Choir.
- Ballet Folklorico Las Aguilas was featured in the April 23, 2006, edition of the SB Sun as part of it's coverage of the upcoming Puttin' On the Ritz fundraiser. The group was performing a sample of their dances for the Board of Education. Ballet Folklorico will also perform at the Ritz fundraiser on Saturday, April 29, 2006.
- Eisenhower High School graduate, Alex Acker, was selected in the second round of the NBA draft. He was selected 60th overall by the Detroit Pistons. Alex was named to the 2001 San Bernardino Sun All-County basketball team and All-CIF first team. Alex has also played for Pepperdine University where he averaged 14.5 points in 88 career games.
- Eisenhower High School alumni, Melissa Arias ('02), who graduated in June from the Fashion Institue of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) and recently presented her first collection. Only 10 design students out of more than 900 were chosen to create a collection for the L.A. Fashion Gala/Debut Show.

- Quad is dedicated in Charles Grande's name. Mr. Grande taught at Ike from 1964 - 2001.
- Breanna Fizdale and Eddie Vega, Football Homecoming Queen and King
- Some students in the class of 2009 have the chance to graduate from high school with a diploma in one hand and a college degree in another. The College Academy is set up for students to attend Eisenhower first period each day and then be bused to SBVC at 8:30 am, Monday through Thursday. Students arrive at SBVC before 9:00 am, attend elective classes until 11:00 am, and then are bused back to Eisenhower where they attend periods 5, 6, and 7.
- Eisenhower gets taken over by MTV. The school was featured in a pilot episode called "Crash My School."
- Coach Lance Riley was recognized as the All-Sun Boys Soccer Coach of the Year. In winning 10 games at Ike this year, Coach Riley helped the Eagles rebound from consecutive 1-21-1 and 1-20-2 records. The Eagles finished the season with a 10-8-7 record and jumped from eighth place in the Citrus Belt League to fourth place in one year.
- Bertha Jazmin Hernandez, an immigrant who arrived at EHS with no English, passed CAHSEE English and Math on the first attempt after studying English for 10 months and was recognized by RUSD as Student of the Quarter in April.
- Brandon Kennedy (class of '05), a member of the 2003 CIF Division I championship boys basketball team, had a career-high 26 points for Coffeyville Community College in the national junior college championship game. Although Coffeyville lost to Southern Idaho, Kennedy was 10-for-11 from the field, 7-for-8 from the free-throw line, and pulled down seven rebounds.
- Sean Marshall (class of '03), a former Eisenhower standout basketball player, returned to the NCAA Basketball Tournament for his fourth consecutive year. While at Boston College, Marshall started all 131 games since his arrival in the fall of 2003. This is the most games played and started in school history. Boston College was the No. 7 seed going into the first round.
- Eisenhower's work with connecting with parents with the Parent Institute was highlighted by Spanish television station Telemundo.
- Eisenhower graduate, Jimmy Grissom, (c/0 '00) a senior at San Bernardino Valley College majoring in computer graphics. After graduation from SBVCC, he planned to continue his education in computer graphics at California State University, Fullerton. Grissom hasn't allowed being confined to a wheelchair stop him. While at Valley College, he coached the Wolverines - a wheelchair basketball team.
- Eisenhower High School graduate, Dorothy Lindlahr, was working as a manager in the mid-1990's at UCLA Medical Center. She gave up working as a corporate executive for a career as a therapist specializing in infant massage. Lindlahr will be using that skill as she accompanies a team of American medical professionals to share their techniques with Belorussians.
- Eisenhower High School was recently taken over by MTV as part of a pilot episode called Crash My School. Some of the activities that took place at Eisenhower over the last week. These included: filming for a pilot episode on MTV, a school-wide assembly with a visit by musician and actor Tyrese, a trip to Paramount studios, and another assembly featuring skateboarders and stunt cyclists. After filming was over, teachers received a new desk and chair as well as a $100 gift card to Office Max.

- The cafeteria and kitchen were completely remodeled. Students now have several food courts to choose from.
- Gabriela Vallejo and Will Smith, Football Homecoming Queen and King
- Ryan Clady, class of '04, was chosen 12th in Saturdays NFL Draft. He was picked up by the Denver Broncos. Clady is Eisenhower's first first-round draft pick since 1981 when Ronnie Lott was selected by the 49ers.
- Jeff Conine, class of '84, retired from baseball. In order to retire with the team he began with, the Florida Marlins, Conine signed a one-day contract on March 28. He played in an exhibition game against the New York Yankees at Dolphin Stadium. He was also honored in a ceremony before the season-opener against the New York Mets on March 31.
- A new program was started called GEAR UP. The mission of GEAR UP is to significantly increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. The program will follow the class of 2011 until they graduate from Ike.
- Intro to Engineering is introduced. The lab was donated by Office Max last year as part of the MTV special.
- Trees were added to the quad as part of the ongoing renovation.
- Two varsity basketball players were named to the Prep Boys Basketball 2007-08 All-Sun Team. Andrew Bock, a junior guard, and David Chavarria, a senior center, were both named to the first team.
- One varsity soccer player was named to the Prep Boys Soccer 2007-08 All-Sun Team. Daniel Montalvo, a junior goalkeeper, was named to the first team.
- Dominic Salcido, class of '02, competed recently in a WBC Super Featherweight Championship bout at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA, against Saul "Guilty Boy" Ochoa. The match went 8 rounds and resulted in a unanimous decision win for Salcido.
- Bertha Jazmin Hernandez has now been recognized not only in the local press, but on KNBC. Roggins Heroes featured Jazmin recently as she was honored for her exceptional achievement as a student.
- Seven high school senior students from San Bernardino County were selected to take part in the first Governor’s Academic Recognition Program. These seven were selected from 39 county nominees. Linda Ta, a senior at Eisenhower High School, joined the 177 recipients honored by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and first lady Maria Shriver at a banquet held in March.
- The Rialto Unified School District Board of Education unanimously approved the 18th Elementary School to be named after longtime child advocate Charlotte Nan Werner. Mrs. Werner worked briefly as a noon duty aide at Henry Elementary School in the early 1990s. She was also an Instructional Assistant at Morgan Elementary School where she worked from March 13, 1997 until June 29, 2000. She was also a parent volunteer who was instrumental in being a Parent Teacher Association leader at Morgan, Henry and Curtis Elementary along with Eisenhower High School, where all of her children graduated.

- Trees were added to the planter boxes along the main north-south sidewalk.
- Eisenhower graduate Victor Butler ('05), was drafted by the National Football League. Mr. Butler was picked up the Dallas Cowboys in the 4th round of the NFL draft.
- Melissa Meza, a senior at Eisenhower, entered in the 2009 Best Teen Chef contest at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of California-Inland Empire. She was one of ten high school seniors entered in the competition.
- Two Eisenhower Eagles were inducted into the Rialto Sports Hall of Fame. On Saturday, November 15, Tom Hoak and Jeff Conine were the honorees at the Johnson Center. Tom Hoak was recognized for his outstanding coaching career at Ike. Hoak's 19-years of coaching football include six CBL titles, a '93 team that was ranked second in the nation, and a CIF-SS title. Jeff Conine, class of '84, was recognized for his 17-year professional baseball career. Conine won two World Series championships while he played with the Florida Marlins. Other Eagles in the Hall include professional golfer Brandie Burton, speed skater and Olympic gold medalist Derek Parra, and the late David Lang who was a running back with the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys.

- Issiah Avila, class of '96, returned to Eisenhower with a little something for our display case. Issiah is a Grammy winner for his work on Usher and Mary J. Blige's albums.

- The boys' basketball team won the CIF Division II State Championship. They are the first team from San Bernardino County to do so.

- Coach Steve Johnson and varsity basketball player Andrew Bock received numerous recognitions.
- Andrew Bock and Coach Steve Johnson were both recognized as All CIF-Southern Section. Andrew Bock was recognized as Division II-A All CIF-SS Co-Player of the Year, LA Times All-Star basketball team, and the San Bernardino Sun Boys' Basketball Player of the Year. Coach Johnson was recognized as Division II-A All CIF-SS Co-Coach of the Year, Los Angeles Times Coach of the Year, Calhisports Coach of the Year for 2009, and San Bernardino Sun Boys' Basketball Coach of the Year.
